While AT&T customers in the U.S. have had the Torch for a few weeks now, Canadians have been patiently waiting for an official launch date at the very least. Last week we let you know internal Futureshop screenshots show off a September 15th sale date, so our assumption is that it will be available for pre-order, or that the date has simply been pushed back. Along with the official announcement, RogersMiranda also posted a video showing off an interview she did with Michael McDowell, BlackBerry’s Director of Marketing, covering some of the changes the new device from RIM is bringing to the market. Check below for the video.

UPDATEs: Bell andTelus have confirmed they will be launching the Torch 9800 on September 24th as well. No confirmation yet on pricing, but it will likely be $199 on a 3 year term as well.

Canadians, will you be picking up a Torch 9800 on launch day?

Telus launching BlackBerry Torch 9800 on September 16th?

The BlackBerry Torch goes on sale in the Untied States later this week, but its still unknown when exactly it’ll launch in Canada. Previously Canada’s big three (Bell, Telus and Rogers) had announced it would be coming later this year. However the team over at TheBerryFix got word that Canada’s very own Telus Mobility might be gearing up for a mid-September launch. The rumor points to September 16th as the possible Canadian launch date for the Torch 9800. Sadly nothing is confirmed as of yet, including pricing. We expect to see the BlackBerry Torch run between $150-199 with three year contract..

So if this rumor holds true will you pick one up in September?

BlackBerry Torch Coming to Telus Sept. 16th?

Picture 3 BlackBerry Torch Coming to Telus Sept. 16th?

For many Canadian BlackBerry users, this rumor comes as less than satisfactory news. According to a tip received by TheBerryFix, Telus is set to launch the device on September 16th of this year, a little over a month after the U.S. AT&T launch. Bell has announced that the device would be coming to their network “this fall”, so we’ll likely see them release it on or around the same date as Telus.

Rogers, however, hasn’t provided any details on when they intend to launch the device. Speculation a few weeks back was that they would offer the device exclusively, at least for some time, so those in Canada still have some hope of getting their hands on this before mid-september.

Those of you in Canada, do you think the device will launch before the end of August? If not, are you going to head across the border to pick one up?

BlackBerry Torch Confirmed by Canada’s Big 3 (Bell, TELUS, Rogers)

blackberry torch closed BlackBerry Torch Confirmed by Canada’s Big 3 (Bell, TELUS, Rogers) %blackberryCanada’s big three networks – Bell, TELUS, and Rogers – have announced that they all will be carrying RIM’s new BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone. While no one could give an exact date, Rogers did say “in the coming weeks” while the others said stuff like “later this year” and the simple “coming soon”.

Bell, TELUS, and Rogers all run similar 3G/HSPA networks in Canada, and we expect they will all launch this hot new device around the same time. Bell also took advantage to say their sub-brand Virgin Mobile will also be carrying the Torch soon. Sadly no one would confirm the exact date or pricing, but its expected to be anywhere between $149-$199 with three year contract.

So who’s going to grab a BlackBerry Torch in Canada? I know I am.
