Israel launches missile attacks on Gaza – 27 Dec 08


It is, according to Israel, just the beginning. A wave of missile attacks on the Gaza Strip, which began on Saturday morning, bombarded security compounds belonging to Hamas, which controls the coastal territory. Clayton Swisher reports.

Rogers has launched a few new unique BlackBerry plans for those wishing to stay away from contracts or want to the option to go without service if they don’t need it in Canada. There are basically two plans available, with the option to choose between unlimited personal e-mail or unlimited Social Networking.

The plans cost $40 and $55 monthly, and the main difference between the packages are that the cheaper option comes with unlimited calling from 3pm – 6pm every day, while the latter option provides unlimited evenings and weekends starting at 6pm. Each comes with unlimited Canadian text messaging and unlimited IM with applications such as BlackBerry Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, and Google Talk.

The new BlackBerry Curve 3G may have just been formally announced by RIM yesterday, but that hasn’t stopped Rogers and now Bell from launching the device. Bell has announced they will be launching the new Curve 3G this Thursday, with an expected price of $349 without contract or $49.95 with three year term. In case you didn’t know the new BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 comes running OS 5.0, but is ready to be upgraded to BlackBerry 6, once it launches for other devices. You can also expect Telus to launch this device within the next week or so.

So is anyone planning on picking up the new Curve 3G from Bell?

TELUS launches CFL Mobile App for BlackBerry

Canada’s TELUS Mobility sent out an announcement today, they have launched the TELUS CFL Mobile App, which will provide CFL content for all BlackBerry users. The Canadian Football League partnered up with TELUS to bring live streaming of all CFL games, on-demand video of game recaps, previews, and interviews, plus enhanced CFL game updates (thanks to Polar Mobile).

Starting today you can download the TELUS CFL Mobile App by visiting www.cfl.ca/telus from your BlackBerry. This app will also be available in the BlackBerry App World shortly, as well other smartphone platforms (like Android) in the near future.

TELUS CFL Mobile is available to all Canadian football fans

Toronto, ON – (August 4, 2010) – The first-ever Canadian Football League mobile app, called TELUS CFL Mobile, launches for all BlackBerry users tomorrow, providing fans with an exciting new way to stay on top of our league even when they’re on the go.

Driven by TELUS, the app and its core content including scores, schedules, stats and news headlines, is available to fans using any Canadian wireless provider.

Subscribers to TELUS, the official national wireless provider of the CFL, also have access to advanced features including:

•               Live streaming of all CFL games including the playoffs and 98th Grey Cup
•               On-demand video including extended game recaps, game previews, exclusive interviews and other video features
•               Enhanced live stats updates during CFL games

The English language version of the TELUS CFL Mobile app is available for all BlackBerry devices starting tomorrow. Fans can download the app by visiting CFL.ca/telus. The app will be available on other leading smartphone devices later this month. A French language version of the app will be coming soon.

TELUS TV customers in British Columbia and Alberta can also use Video on Demand to experience full replays of CFL games.

The TELUS CFL Mobile app was built and powered by Polar Mobile Inc.

Canada’s own Rogers Wireless is the first to launch the BlackBerry Curve 3G. The BlackBerry Curve 9300 is the slight upgrade to the current 8500 series models. Starting today you can grab the Curve 3G from Rogers for $79.99 with three year term or $399 without contract. Currently Rogers only has the titanium colored model listed on their site, but it is expected they will launch a violet color shortly. You can find details at Rogers.com or your local Rogers store.

Also expect both Bell and Telus to launch the Curve 3G sometime next week.
