BlackBerry Style (9670) OS Tutorial Videos Emerge Online

blackberry style 96701 300x227 BlackBerry Style (9670) OS Tutorial Videos Emerge Online

I’m sure its no surprise that RIM produces Tutorial videos on the new devices they are releasing so that they can send them to retailers to prepare them for the launch of the device. We saw a ton of tutorial videos get leaked before the BlackBerry Torch got released.  Today the folks over at CrackBerry got their hands on a couple leaked OS tutorial videos for the BlackBerry Style 9670.  The videos are pretty good and look like the same type of videos you see when you first fire up the BlackBerry Torch 9800. Enjoy!

BlackBerry App World Surpasses 10,000 Apps in its Library!

app world 10000 BlackBerry App World Surpasses 10,000 Apps in its Library!

I don’t know about you but the one complaint about BlackBerry’s that I hate hearing is that there aren’t that many apps for BlackBerry. Now some of the people who say this don’t know about BlackBerry App World, and the others are just people that really haven’t dived into App World. Well today BlackBerry tweeted that BlackBerry App World has surpassed 10,000 apps. This is pretty good to hear. If you compare it to the Android Market ( which has about 50,000 apps) and to the Itunes app store ( which has about 100,000 apps), BlackBerry App World still has some catching up to do, but with BlackBerry starting to give more people access to their app development I think they will have no problem catching up to the Android Market and Itunes app store.

Saturate Your BlackBerry With The Zuki Immersion Theme By Zuki Software Ltd

Captura al 19 08 2010 20 32 54 Saturate Your BlackBerry With The Zuki Immersion Theme By Zuki Software Ltd %blackberry

Being a huge fan of blue themes and knowing that Zuki releases extraordinary themes, Zuki Immersion is another prime example of both. The theme was originally created as a business theme, but it’s also professional as well as personal. Zuki Immersion Theme is available in the BlackBerry Sync Store for $4.99. Check it out..

First of all, the theme is only available for OS 5.0.

Zuki Immersion is only compatible with the following BlackBerry devices: 9700, 8900,9650

This is the description from the Store:

One thing we at Zuki GQ have generally not touched on is business-orientated themes. This is mainly due to them usually looking rather boring. But we recently received a request from a company based in the UK asking us to do a business theme that still looked good

The result is what you see here. It is not strictly a business theme, but if you use your BlackBerry for work, this theme will get you everything you need to plan your day ahead right on your homescreen. And if you don’t use it for that? Well then it’s just a super-slick, super-fast, HD premium theme to brighten up your BlackBerry. We’ve even thrown in the new BlackBerry 6 icons just to heighten the experience.

Features:

  • Stunning HD graphics used throughout
  • OS6 Icons
  • Easy to use
  • No lag / Super fast

I installed this theme on my BlackBerry 9650. It installed easily. The battery indicator sits on the top left, the signal indicator on the top right. The time and date sit in the top center. There are five customizable icons and the Calendar which will display all your dates. When you move to the Calendar space the band turns dark. I love the way the blue on the Home screen looks like a blue mist. When moving out of the Calendar area to the icon bar, you can see the bar fade and the mist radiates! The Switch Application bar appears in black with the box cursor to contrast against the blue.

Push the menu button and it brings you to the squared pattern you see with OS 6 icons. The transition comes from the inside out and goes back into the home screen when you reverse. The menu comes in from the left and goes back to the left. In Browser, messages, and options the background is white with grey font, what you type is in black. The highlight is in blue. The menu is black with white font. Alerts are the same so it’s easy to know what is being alerted.

The theme is fast, transitions are nice, and it’s perfect for work or on the go. I fell in love with the blue and the transitions, it’s soothing and looks very professional. I also like that it doesn’t slow my phone down.

Update: WordPress For BlackBerry Updates To v1.4.3

Captura al 06 09 2010 08 10 25 400x300 Update: WordPress For BlackBerry Updates To v1.4.3 %blackberry

WordPress for BlackBerry updated to v.1.4.2 then hours later updated to v1.4.3. The v1.4.2 had a fix for those who weren’t able to validate their password and user name. The way the previous version worked, only editors had permission. I had run into that issue myself with a red triangle next to our name. The v1.4.3 had a fix for the bug with posting pictures from the BlackBerry that v1.4.2 had. So if you have WordPress installed, please update now. If you would like to try WordPress, you can use the same link. The newer version should be available in BlackBerry App World soon. You can read more in the WordPress for BlackBerry Forums here.

Bell Mobility to launch BlackBerry Torch too

Bell Mobility to launch BlackBerry Torch too %blackberry

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 might be exclusive to one carrier in the U.S., but that hasn’t stopped the floozy of a handset from making the rounds in Canada. Bell Mobility recently announced that they too will be carrying the BlackBerry Torch slider — which we knew – beginning on September 24th. The device will retail for $199 on a 3-year contract and $599 off-contract. This brings the total number of Canadian networks launching the 9800 on September 24 to four: Bell, Rogers, Telus, and Virgin Mobile. Bell hasn’t put out an official press release yet, but we have a statement for you after the break.

Bell Mobility will launch the BlackBerry® Torch™ on September 24, and clients will be able to get the device for as low as $199.99 on a three year contract. The BlackBerry Torch will operate on the HSPA+ network, which is the largest and fastest wireless network in Canada, and reaches 93% of Canadians coast to coast in thousands of cities and towns.

The new BlackBerry Torch combines a large capacitive touch screen and optical trackpad with a 35 key full QWERTY backlit slide-out keyboard, designed to feel optimally balanced when opened for typing. It offers support for high-speed 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) networks around the world, includes the latest generation in Wi-Fi® (b/g/n) connectivity and built-in GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging. Its 5 MP camera takes exceptional pictures with continuous auto focus, image stabilization, scene modes and zoom, as well as video recording. It also comes with a combined 8 GB of media storage out-of-the-box, including a microSD/SDHD memory card slot that can bring the total storage memory to 36 GB for customers that want more.

The BlackBerry Torch is the first to launch with BlackBerry 6, a new operating system for BlackBerry smartphones. It features a redesigned interface, and a new and rich WebKit-based browser that renders HTML web pages (as well as HTML email) quickly and beautifully for a great browsing experience. The browser includes tabs for accessing multiple sites simultaneously, double-tap to zoom that can intelligently wrap text in a column while maintaining the placement of a page’s key elements, and pinch to zoom.

BlackBerry 6 offers expanded messaging capabilities and RSS feeds (Social Feeds), which provides integrated access to the popular BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™) service as well as Facebook®, Twitter™, MySpace™ and various instant messaging applications. The enhanced multimedia experience includes a dedicated YouTube app, and BlackBerry Podcasts, allowing users to easily discover, acquire and enjoy audio and video podcasts from leading content providers. A universal search feature, accessible from the Home Screen, allows users to search for content on the smartphone, as well as extend the search to the Internet or to discover applications on BlackBerry App World™, which is included and supports credit card payments.
