Verizon customers looking to use Skype services on their BlackBerry handsets have a new leaked version to try out today, courtesy of BESMgmt and BlackBerry Leaks. Beta v1.0.5.0 has been leaked, with both desktop and OTA installation files available. Apparently this new version is optimized for the 9650, and will only work on Verizon’s network.

Trillian for BlackBerry has been in beta for sometime now. It’s a chat client that integrates several different types of accounts. I’ve been using it and I’m going to take a few minutes to explain it to you and why Trillian is a great way to stay in touch.
Here’s a little fact, the program Trillian was actually named after a fictional character from The Hitchiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. That aside, let’s see what Trillian is all about. If you were lucky enough to have participated in the beta, don’t worry. According to the Trillian Blog, there’s a note for the beta testers that the beta version will eventually expire so they are giving everyone a chance to upgrade the app to avoid disruption of service.
Trillian is available in the BlackBerry App World for only $4.99 as an introductory price. The last beta build was v1.0.0.220, this full version is 1.0.0.221. Here’s the description as it is in BlackBerry App World:

For those who have the beta and really liked it, don’t hesitate waiting to update since the app is in it’s introductory offer price. And for those of you who didn’t participate in the beta, I’d recommend using it if you would like to have your facebook chat, and your yahoo, gmail, etc all in one convenient app. Don’t lose your contacts or sign into different ones, keep them all in one place.
I’ve included some screenshots to give you some ideas of what to expect and for the price you can’t beat it. I don’t really use any messenger other than BBM often, but it’s a convenient alternative to separate apps, and not many include facebook chat either. I know there’s not currently a lite version offered or a trial period, but I can tell you if this is the type of app you are looking for, look no further because it will meet your needs and more.

If you’re like me, then you have a bunch of instant message client usernames. Running all of those clients on your BlackBerry can be strain on your drain on your BlackBerry Battery.
