I love white colored BlackBerry devices, and the good news is the unreleased Bold 9780 will come in white. A Chinese website managed to get some decent shots of the Bold 9780 running BlackBerry 6 in white. The BlackBerry 9780 is expected to be the direct replacement for the Bold 9700. It will feature a few small upgrades including a better camera (5.0 megapixel) and more memory to run BlackBerry 6 with the Webkit browser.

It’s been rumored for a little while now that RIM would be replacing the ever so successful BlackBerry Bold 9700, with a faster and slightly upgraded model. Well it seems BGR has managed to get his hands on a RIM internal slide show, which shows this next generation Bold 9700 – code named BlackBerry Bold R020. According to the slide this device should launch sometime in October 2010, and is set to feature BlackBerry 6 pre-loaded, 512MB of RAM, and a 5.0 megapixel camera with auto-focus. It’s not clear what RIM intends to model this device exactly, but we expect to see it release as the Bold 9780.
So all you Bold 9700 owners: How does it feel to know your device is becoming old? Personally I don’t like it.

Many of us have been waiting for more information regarding BlackBerry 6 on non-touch devices, and thanks to Driphter, there’s a hands-on video demonstrating the upcoming OS running on a 9780. Navigation through the new UI seems smooth and simple despite the lack of a touch screen, easing the concerns of some BlackBerry users.
For those of us wondering if the 9700 will get BlackBerry 6, it’s looking less and less likely, as this device seems to be a beefed up version of our beloved 9700, seemingly created specifically to run the new OS.
Viewers are warned that this is not a final release of BlackBerry 6, so even more improvements are expected by launch.
What the video covers:
Home Screen
User Interface
WebKit Browser
App Switcher
Search from phone
Applications
Youtube link for mobile viewing
What do you think about having to get a new device in order to run the new OS?

It seems that once the news of a new BlackBerry device hits the web, we see more and more of it everyday. This remains true since there has been yet another appearance made by the BlackBerry Bold 9780. New screenshots showing off the homescreen, current OS6 version, and memory usage. I can’t wait to see the videos of this device in action. Hopefully they’ll be coming soon! More screenshots after the break.
This isn’t exactly shocking news, but we thought we would share anyway. BBLeaks is reporting that Verizon Wireless will give the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 and the BlackBerry Curve 8530 their end-of-life papers on August 15th and August 1st respectively. The move comes as Verizon makes room in its inventory for newer BlackBerry devices; BBLeaks reports that replacements for the 9550 and 8530 are due out in Q3/Q4 (which is a pretty large 6-month window). The 8530 is likely going to be replaced by the 9300 series, and we’ve heard grumblings from sources that an updated Storm, the Storm 3, will follow the Storm 2 (although we haven’t been able to pin this one down).
PocketBerry is reporting that T-Mobile has ceased shipments of the BlackBerry Curve 8500 series to retail stores and should be rolling out the new Curve 9300 series to its customer base within the next few months.
And finally, driphter.com got a few snap shots of the BlackBerry 9780; which will purportedly fal into the “Bold” family. The device is very Bold 9700 looking with 512 Mb of RAM and BlackBerry 6. We’ve got a few images of the leaked handset after the jump.
