Dropbox for BlackBerry Launches as Limited Beta

Picture 111 Dropbox for BlackBerry Launches as Limited Beta

Many of us have been patiently waiting for Dropbox to come to BlackBerry, and it’s already hit practically every other mobile platform so far. Finally, the BlackBerry application has launched in beta stages, though the release has been limited to only 1000 downloads, which have all been accounted for already.

Dropbox allows users to store up to 2GB worth of files (using the free account option) on a remote server that is accessible on multiple devices using an internet connection, making it a great solution for those who need to access items on the go using multiple devices. With a paid subscription, customers can get up to 100GB of online storage to use in the same manner.

Did you get in on the limited beta? If so, let us know your thoughts on the app!

Remember, if you didn’t get the beta, you can still access your Dropbox files on your BlackBerry by using the mobile-optimized website http://m.dropbox.com

BlackBerry Curve 3G shows up Telus website… Accidentally?

telus curve3g BlackBerry Curve 3G shows up Telus website… Accidentally? %blackberryWhoops! Looks like Telus has accidentally listed the upcoming BlackBerry Curve 3G on their website. I went on to telusmobility.com this morning to check out their new smartphone plan (with 5GB bonus data), and look what I came across. Telus has listed the unreleased BlackBerry Curve 3G as the current CDMA Curve 8530. It says the “Curve 3G” is available in silver, pink, or red at a price of $49.99 with three year contract. However we’ve heard the upcoming Curve 3G will be available in titanium and pink, not red.

We know that Telus is getting ready to launch the new BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 within the next few weeks, but it seems their website might be getting ready to launch it before them. Keep an eye out for the official Canadian launch within the next few weeks.

Bold 9780 Running BlackBerry 6 Caught On Video

Many of us have been waiting for more information regarding BlackBerry 6 on non-touch devices, and thanks to Driphter, there’s a hands-on video demonstrating the upcoming OS running on a 9780. Navigation through the new UI seems smooth and simple despite the lack of a touch screen, easing the concerns of some BlackBerry users.

For those of us wondering if the 9700 will get BlackBerry 6, it’s looking less and less likely, as this device seems to be a beefed up version of our beloved 9700, seemingly created specifically to run the new OS.

Viewers are warned that this is not a final release of BlackBerry 6, so even more improvements are expected by launch.

What the video covers:

  • Home Screen
  • User Interface
  • WebKit Browser
  • App Switcher
  • Search from phone
  • Applications

What do you think about having to get a new device in order to run the new OS?
